So, after being released on unconditional bail last night, despite being arrested trying to flee abroad to avoid jail, Tommy Robinson has managed to skip the country after after all.
He was due to appear in court this morning to answer a charge of contempt for breaching an injunction relating to a libellous documentary which he made and has shown publicly. It was expected that he would be jailed.
Yesterday morning, the day after his 20,000 strong demonstration in London, he was arrested at the Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone trying to leave the country. He was charged under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act for failing to give up the PIN for his phone, and released. He then fled abroad.
More will follow, but someone will have to answer for granting unconditional bail to an obvious flight risk with at least two passports, on for the UK, one for Ireland.
