As Britain First’s 17 May Birmingham demo approaches, co-leader Paul Golding is getting increasingly desperate. His bizarre antics over recent weeks suggest he may be heading for a political and nervous breakdown.
He now claims that his last big event, ‘the rally to end all rallies’ in March in Nuneaton, which occupied the corner of a car park, was just a warm-up. Well, that’s a novel spin on humiliation and failure.
No, the ‘big one’ is now going to be in Birmingham and his co-leader Ashlea Simon is not afraid. She boasts of previous excursions to the city where ‘the reds’ outnumbered her paltry party fifty to one. But she, um, survived. Remarkable!
The apathy of patriots, he says, is the biggest threat to Britain meaning, of course, the biggest threat to his continued full-time employment.
Golding, having told his supporters that BF is ‘skipping’ the local elections as part of some grand strategic plan, is now desperate for anything he can claim even remotely as a victory.
So he’s recently posted a whining, bullying, passive-aggressive video online begging supporters to turn up, and blaming them for the loss of ‘our country’ if the don’t.
The apathy of patriots, he says, is the biggest threat to Britain meaning, of course, the biggest threat to his continued full-time employment.
“We have speakers from the USA and Poland”, he boasts. Well, the American, a pastor no-one had heard of, was at Nuneaton. Some obscure Polish bigot is hardly a significant upgrade.

He’s also ordered twice as many flags – pity the poor marchers who will have to carry four each this time. And they now have their own in-house security. By which he means his mate with a security company who is invoicing, well, at the top end shall we say, for his services.
Enough garbage
Birmingham does not need or want fascists traipsing around the place. There’s already a garbage collection crisis in the city and now Golding is threatening to bring more rubbish into town.
On a positive note, anti-fascists, well aware that Golding knows he’s going to rely totally on heavy police protection, are cutting their cloth accordingly.
Whilst Golding is organising his pawns, anti-fascists are mobilising the better pieces on the political chess board, and Golding is guaranteed a warm reception on 17 May.
A dying project
This may be his last chance. Further failure will render his whole dying, discredited project bankrupt, politically and financially. He has lost vital organisers and activists of late, which explains his hysterical attacks on rival fringe parties and grouplets who have been picking them up.
Kenny Smith’s Homeland Party, and even UKIP and Alek Yerbury’s National Rebirth Party, are all making modest gains in membership. Britain First is tanking and Golding’s grifting is now fully fevered.
We strongly encourage all anti-fascists to organise and mobilise against Golding. Stand Up To Racism is centrally involved in organising on the ground. Golding’s thugs are being told to meet at Birmingham New St Station on Saturday 17 May.
Let’s ensure he gets the attention he deserves.
