
The Homeland Party is facing an imminent and damaging split, as dissidents supporting Steve Laws have submitted an open letter to the party’s ruling council calling on Kenny Smith to resign.
Supporters of party chief Smith are known to be in panic mode and trying to calm down what is growing dissent with Smith’s strategy of ‘sensible nationalism’ and his leadership of the party.
Laws left the two months ago, citing Smith’s willingness to dilute ‘nationalist’ policies in the interests of seeking popularity. Since then he has been waging war from outside the party, while shaping up to support any political party which Rupert Lowe might launch.
