Roger Quilliam, a member of the UKIP NEC (representing playground-age children) has been declared the official party candidate for Caerphilly in the forthcoming Welsh Senedd by-election. He is running on a straightforward platform – he wants the Senedd itself abolished.
The UKIP announcement prompted friends at @WalesAtTheUN to have a look into Quilliam’s recent past and they spotted, which we missed at the time, that at the beginning of the month, when Keir Starmer rearranged his cabinet, Quilliam was calling for the deportation of David Lammy (born in London) and Shabana Mahmood (born in Birmingham).


As our Welsh friends remarked : “It appears the UKIP candidate in the Caerphilly by-election is openly embracing white supremacism!”
And he does indeed appear to be giving that very impression.
But we have been scratching our heads. We knew we had come across Quilliam recently, but where?
