So, if you were wondering how far-right protestors turned up so suddenly yesterday at a hotel in Canary Wharf in London, said to be housing migrants, you need look no further than the inciter-in-chief, Tommy Robinson.
The protests began yesterday evening following reports spread online that migrants from the Bell Hotel in Epping, scene of racist riots twice last week, were to be re-housed to the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf, in London’s Docklands.
But these rumours only gained velocity after Robinson – real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – tweeted at 3.00 pm yesterday that it was being ‘widely reported’ (at that stage it wasn’t) that 450 ‘unvetted migrant men’ were to be transferred to the hotel from Epping:
Shortly afterwards, Robinson’s racist rabble began gathering at the hotel.
Needless to say, there was to be no sign of Robinson himself.
Just like last year, after the dreadful events at Southport, he was quite happy to wind things up from afar but stay well clear of trouble himself.
In fact, having just arrived back from Portugal, via a short stay in Benidorm, he immediately flew out of the country again to go to a stag night for Mahyar Tousi, the far-right YouTuber.
The Canary Wharf racists did not go unopposed: an emergency callout by Stand Up To Racism saw around 30 anti-racists making sure the far right did not have it all their own way.
One person who did show up at Canary Wharf, however, was Kai Cunningham, of the kinder-nazi outfit White Vanguard.
He was the deranged nazi who addressed the crowd at Britain First’s Birmingham demo in May, declaring that jihadists were the tools of ‘Zionist Jews’.
Two weeks ago, Searchlight reported that he was also a prominent activist in Reform UK in Kent, though he has subsequently been suspended from membership.
A few days ago he was also present at one of the race riots in Epping, handing out leaflets for White Vanguard.
Just another of those concerned local residents…
